Calgary high school standout, Brooke Taylor, will be joining a strong recruiting class of players this upcoming season in the women's basketball program. Taylor, is a 5' 8" guard from Ernest Manning High School in Calgary where she averaged 17 points and 8 rebounds per game. "Brooke is an outstanding athlete who will complement the outstanding recruiting class we have joining us this season," said head coach Rob Poole. "Brooke can score, rebound, and defend, with the best players in the ACAC. She was recruited by many schools in western Canada and we are pleased she has selected to attend Grant MacEwan University."
At Ernest Manning, Taylor was selected as her team's MVP for two seasons and led her team to three consecutive city championship appearances. Other honors include being chosen to participate in the Calgary High School all-star game and winning the Herman Doer Grant at her school's own tournament. " I feel Brooke has the desire and talent to make the transition to post secondary basketball. Her athleticism will allow her to compete both at the small forward and guard positions."
