The Griffins Golf Team was back in action during the Spring attending exibition tournaments in Victoria, BC and Lethbridge , Alberta for the Lethbridge College Invitational. First - the team was off to Victoria over the Easter Break to compete against the University of Victoria Golf Team at the beautiful Bear Mountain Golf Club as well as the Olympic View Golf Club. This was a great opportunity for the Griffins to play against one of the best University Golf Teams in the Country. Both the Men's and Ladies teams came up short of a victory against the powerful UVic teams, but had a great time competing and enjoying two of the best golf courses on the Island.
Next the team was off to Lethbridge to play in the Lethbridge College Golf Invitational, which was played in conjunction with one the Maple Leaf Jr Tour events held at the Paradise Canyon Golf Course. Tournament Partner Lethbridge College organized the event, inviting Grant MacEwan University, University of Alberta, University of Calgary, and Red Deer College to play with the Lethbridge College Kodiaks team and alongside the MJT players, looking to fill their team rosters and recruit for the 2011 season. Jace Barros of the Grant MacEwan University came out on top of the field to post rounds of 72 and 70 to win the overall Championship by one shot over Mark Milne from the U of C. Deric Olsonberg also had a great week finishing in 6th place overall with rounds of 73 and 79.
